How does it work?
Do you need to go to the hospital, dentist or hairdresser, but you can't use the bus? Would you like to eat at a local restaurant? But is it just too far to walk? With the volunteer drivers of Sterk Ouderenwerk you will get there!
The volunteer drivers will happily take you to your destination. And of course they will also take you home again. Do you have an appointment at the hospital? Then the volunteer can accompany you even into the consultation room if you want. Do you use a walker or do you have a folding wheelchair? That is no problem, the drivers will ensure that aids can be taken along.
The AutoMaatje transport service is a collaboration between Sterk Ouderenwerk and the ANWB.
Holidays December
During and around the holidays there are fewer drivers available, so transport during these days is very limited.
We hope for your understanding!

- you are not eligible for transportation via avan
How does ANWB AutoMaatje work?
- Request your ride via the 'request directly' button at the bottom of this page or call us on working days from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
NB: Request your ride in time (minimum three working days in advance and maximum one month). The sooner you request the ride, the more time we have to find a volunteer. - We will then look for a volunteer driver who can drive for you. Once we have found someone for you, we will call you to confirm the ride.
NB: We will do our utmost to arrange transport for you. However, our volunteers must have time. Therefore, we cannot promise that your trip will always go ahead. - At the agreed time, the volunteer will be at your door. For a short outing, the driver will wait. Is there a lot of time between the outward and return journey? Then you arrange with the driver when he/she will pick you up again.
Costs
You pay €0.35 for each kilometre driven. We charge the kilometres from the volunteer's home. Does the driver go home in between, because he/she would otherwise have to wait a long time for you? Then we also charge those kilometres. You also pay any parking costs. You pay the volunteer in cash when you are back home.
